The primary architectural inspiration for this project is a combination of two iconic structures: the Farnsworth House, designed by Ludwig Mies van der Rohe and Bruce Wayne’s house in Batman V Superman, designed by production designer Patrick Tatopoulos. Although I initially intended to create a lakefront environment, I ultimately opted for a more moody atmosphere.
In these renders, I aimed to achieve a cinematic or filmic appearance. I used muted colors, with subtle reddish hues in the faded shadows.
I created the architectural model in Blender, while the majority of the environment comprises various Quixel assets. However, I modified the albedo colors/maps to ensure that the assets appeared to belong to the same biome. For the ground, I used Quixel Mixer to create a blend of four different surfaces, including puddles that helped to break up the texture’s tiling. Finally, I added micro-detail debris and rocks to areas where natural erosion would occur, although they may not be visible in the renders
I wanted to go for a cinematic/film look with these renders. Muted colors with some subtle reddish hues in the faded shadows.
