For this project, I recreated a scene from Skyfall where Bond visits Skyfall Lodge with the iconic Aston Martin DB5.
While I didn’t aim for a perfect replica, I tried to capture the essence of the original scene and pay homage to the cinematography of the great Roger Deakins. To achieve this, I used cutting-edge technologies like Nanite and Lumen for real-time rendering, which allowed me to maintain a steady 30fps.
I created the lodge in Blender, ensuring that the main structural details were consistent with the film set. I used vertex painting in Unreal Engine to texture the walls, with different materials for the base, moss, and grunge stone walls. To add a sense of wear and tear, I heavily used decals for leakage, cracks, and moss.
The heavy fog that creates an atmospheric look was created with a simple radial gradient material and depth offset opacity to control the thickness and blend.
